What is a monitored alarm system? A monitored
alarm system is one that sends alarm signals electronically to a central
station, where a qualified operator can dispatch appropriate authorities in the
event of a break-in or fire. The central station operator can also contact a
list of people of your choice to keep them informed of the situation as it
develops. If your alarm were to go off- who will be around or go out of their
way to call the police? Our 24 hour U.L. listed central station will notify
local authorities when operators receive a signal. The police, or our guards
will then be dispatched to your home or business to help protect your
possessions and ensure your safety. Monitoring is an extremely important feature
of the security system which is sometimes wrongly perceived as a financial
burden. Monitoring requires a monthly fee, however the cost is less than that of
cable television, and the service is far more rewarding. Isn’t the protection of
your family & possessions worth this small investment? |
 |
Is an
alarm system expensive? No! There are
many different options available through Pacific Alarm Systems geared toward
providing the best protection at a price anyone can afford. The price for the
sale and installation of a residential system depends on the construction of
your house, and the level of protection you require. Residential alarm systems
have come way down in price over the last few years. We have many options
available to allow almost anyone, on any budget, to afford a reliable alarm
system to protect their loved ones and property. |
 |
Can I get a break on my insurance if I get an alarm
system? Yes! Insurance companies also realize the lower risk of exposure
for homes equipped with a monitored alarm system. Many insurance companies offer
discounts of up to 15% if you install a monitored alarm. |
 |
What happens if my phone lines are cut? Most
alarm systems use a telephone line to transmit signals to the central station.
If your alarm is reliant upon only telephone line transmission, although the
siren or bell will ring, no signals will be sent to the central station. Your
Pacific Alarm Systems representative can explain the various radio back up
services we can provide to insure signals are received even if the phone line is
cut. |
 |
How do I know my system is working? We always
recommend alarm system testing. Your representative will explain how to properly
test your system so there will never be a worry if the system is working or not.

a recorded record of a dispatch or authorization. |
 |
Is the
Pacific Alarm Systems Central Station U.L.-listed?

listing assures that our central station meets the rigorous requirements. U.L.

 |
What happens to my alarm system if the A.C. Power
fails? Your system will remain fully active even in the event of a power
failure. All Pacific Alarm systems provide back up stand-by battery power. If
the battery begins to drain, a battery trouble signal will also be sent so it
can be replaced even before it goes completely dead. Your Pacific Alarm system
will also report to our central station an A.C. power outage. If you so desire,
we can contact you to let you know that the power may be out to a refrigeration
system, computer system, or any other crucial power reliant device. |
 |
How long will it take to install my system?
This all depends upon the size of your system. A typical installation period is
one to two days. |
 |
Do you need a separate phone line for the
monitoring portion? No, a separate phone line is not necessary. However,
the system will seize your phone line for a few seconds when sending an
emergency alarm signal to our central station. |
